Tour of Vilnius

My wife and I and two friends arrived in Vilnius and were met by Kestas Lukoskinas of the Beautiful Land of Nevermind. We began our visit with the Vilnius Adventure tour, a 3-hour walking tour of the Old Town and the self-proclaimed Republic of Uzupis. This was a fascinating mixture of history and local culture conducted by a very knowledgeable local guide. Kestas organised excursions out of town to the wonderful Gothic red-brick castle at Trakai and the incredible Europos Parkas contemporary sculpture park. We then travelled through the delightful Lithuanian countryside to Klaipeda. A highlight was a day-long visit to the Curonian Spit where the fantastic and grotesque wooden carvings on the Witches Hill at Juodkrantre were a highlight. Another day we drove to Zemaitija National Park which has a wonderful landscape of lakes and forests. However, deep in the forest is the Cold War Museum on the site of a Soviet era nuclear missile base. This is impressive not to be missed although one leaves with the scary notion that this site once threatened major cities in Europe.Throughout our tour we had excellent local guides and the benefit of Kestas who made sure we also enjoyed the interesting local cuisine. It was a great experience. Visited May 2013

Trip to Lithuania

We had a great trip to Lithuania thanks to Kestas and The Beautiful Land of Nevermind. From picking us up at the airport to driving us to Riga, Latvia, Kestas did it all and very well. Our first night's dinner was at a local place that introduced us to the amazing array of how to do potatoes in many different ways. The accomodations he picked out were excellent, and very local. He took us on several tours of Vilnius, using a local guide, where he was always present. He also drove us to sights outside of Vilnius - Trakai and Europos Parkas. We then drove to Klaipeda in his minivan through the countryside, stopping for various attractions. Klaipeda and the Curonian Spit were both wonderful. We walked through the trails on the Witches Hill at Juodkrantre with Kestas and a local guide who explained the various tales surrounding the wooden structures and caricatures on the trail. He then drove us to Riga to meet with our Latvian guide, taking us to the Hill of Crosses on the way. Very knowledgable, very passionate about Lithuania, easy to be with and of good humor. He also picked wonderful, small hotels and found an abundance of local restaurants serving Lithuanian food.Visited May 2013

Group trip to Lithuania

We went in Lithuania for ten days during April, with a group of eighteen persons.
We contacted the Beautiful Land of Nevermind Agency to find two minibus and to book the hotels and the restaurants for us.

Kestas was very resposive and did a very good job, so all was perfect during our trip.
He was also very hepful when one of us lost his luggage at the airport and to help a extra member to join the group four days after the arrival.
So, we absolutely recommend you Beautiful Land of Nevermind Agency and his friendly manager Kestas for all your trips In Lithuania.

Journey from Lithuania into Belarus and Russia

Hi Everyone reading this site.

Kestas was an excellent driver, great guide, capable translator (three languages) and became a good friend on our week long journey from Lithuania into Belarus and Russia. I cannot recommend Kestas more highly; the trip was unusual because my friend Tom and I are organising a bike ride in August 2012 called Recycle History to commemorate all those who died in Napoleons invasion of Russia 200 years ago and we had to find a good route to cycle on. Kestas was invaluable, helpful and flexible with that essential ingredient, a good sense of humor - talking and arranging everything at all times to make our task possible. If you go to Lithuania you must contact him then you'll see why he's so good at his job.

Thanks again Kestas

In search of ancestors

Hello Kestas,

Greetings from the Beautiful Land of New Zealand.

We want to thank you very much for the assistance you gave us during our recent most enjoyable five days in Lithuania.
Your guiding services, travel assistance and friendship were very much appreciated. Although we are a lot older than you we found you very easy to get along with and interesting to converse with. You quickly got the feel of what we liked to see and to visit and were never intrusive. As you know we liked the outdoors and countryside as well as some of the interesting places in Vilnius and Klaipeda.

We certainly appreciated you taking us to places not on "the tourist trail" such as the old pub and your friends farm.
Should we meet people in New Zealand who are going to Lithuania or considering it we would have no hesitation in suggesting that they contact you at The Beautiful Land of Nevermind with a view to utilising your services.

Thanks again Kestas
Kind regards,
Greg and Geraldine Kasper

Tour in Curonian Spit

Before we came to Lithuania and the Kursiu Nerija (Curonian Spit) on June 2009, our aim was to learn something about the history, development, and importance of this particular part of Lithuania. And these expectations were absolutely fulfilled - big compliment to our (German speaking) guide, who gave us a widespread overview and insight of that.

The only thing I am sad about (and I can speak for whole of our group), was that we had no chance to stay longer at this charming place (this time).
So, Kestas, I also want to thank you for your help arranging this, it was also a pleasure to me!
